Celebrate Beltane Weekend 2026: Fire, Music, and Magic Under the Stars

Fri 1st May to Sun 3rd May 2026

So, you’re thinking about joining us to celebrate Beltane Weekend 2026? Honestly, there is no better place to be. If you’re looking for a getaway that’s a bit more soulful than your average camping trip, you’ve found it.

We’re turning the campsite into a hub of music, art, and ancient vibes to celebrate the peak of Spring. But before you pack your tent and your dancing shoes, here’s the lowdown on what this mystical weekend is actually all about.

What Exactly is Beltane?

If you go back a few thousand years, our ancestors weren’t just checking their calendars; they were watching the land. Beltane (pronounced Bel-tane) is an ancient Gaelic festival that marks the midpoint between the spring equinox and the summer solstice.

The name itself likely comes from the Celtic god Belenos – the “Bright One” – and the Gaelic word tene, meaning fire. Put them together, and you get “Bright Fire.” Historically, it was the time when cattle were driven out to the summer pastures. To protect the herd and ensure a literal “fruitful” year, people would light two massive bonfires and walk the cattle (and themselves!) between them for purification

How We Celebrate Today in the UK

While we might not be herding cows through the campsite, the spirit of Beltane is very much alive across the UK. Today, it’s less about survival and more about connection, creativity, and the return of the sun.

From the massive fire spectacle on Edinburgh’s Calton Hill to local village maypoles, Beltane is a time to shake off the last of the winter “stuckness.” It’s a celebration of:

Fertility & Growth: Not just for the birds and the bees, but for our own ideas and projects.

The May Queen & The Green Man: You’ll often see these figures representing the marriage of the earth and the sun.

Fire & Light: Lighting a flame to welcome the coming heat of summer.

Why Beltane Weekend 2026 at Our Campsite?

We believe the best way to honor an ancient festival is to keep it evolving. For Beltane Weekend 2026, we’re blending those deep-rooted traditions with a modern twist. We’ll have live music, locally brewed beer, theatre, a festival of fire & ceremonial burning of the Wicca Man.
